Easy to get to Big Bear Lake is a four season resort centrally located in southern California, Big Bear Lake is two to three hours from all the major southern California cities, San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Palm Springs and Los Vegas Nevada. Big Bear Lake is surrounded by national forest and sits at a lofty elevation of 6743 feet. Big Bear Lake is also less than an hours flight (Big Bear Airport) from any of these cities. Big Bear’s airport was established by the military used it as an army flight training facility between 1934 and 1937. Whether you fly or drive Big Bear Lake is the perfect getaway destination for couples, families or groups of friends wanting to enjoy the great outdoors.


Each season brings its own unique reasons to be in Big Bear. Escape the heat in the summer when the average high temp is 78 degrees and perfect. The air is fresh and clean and the lake is cool and beacons you to come and play. Everywhere you look, people are enjoying the lake, from boating and jet skiing to fishing and parasailing and more. Come experience the 5th largest “Fourth of July” display in California and the “Old Minor’s Days”, a program that has been a Big Bear Lake institution since 1949. In the Fall the locals relish the beauty and peace that sets in. The color filled hikes in our national forests are inspiring. The mountain bike trails can not be missed this time of year and the fishing season brings out the spirit of old Big Bear.
Winter is a wonderland and fun is to be had, hitting the slopes and SNOW SUMMIT and BEAR MOUNTAIN or making holiday memories, there is nothing like a white Christmas in Big Bear. Spring brings the tulips and daffodils and the calm before the summer season sets in.
